KasperskyOS-Powered Smartphones Being Tested by Customers
KasperskyOS-powered smartphones, running on a microkernel-based operating system developed by "Kaspersky Lab," are currently being tested by customers, reported TASS. Anna Kulashova, the managing director of the company in Russia and CIS, made this announcement.
The device was first showcased by the CEO of Kaspersky Lab, Eugene Kaspersky, in April. He specified that the smartphone itself is developed by "Aquarius" and that all software comes from their company. Kaspersky has frequently mentioned using this gadget personally.
"I recently also took it for regular testing," said Kulashova to TASS. "It's a significant step because I'm evaluating this smartphone specifically with commercial use in mind. There's still much work to be done, but it can make calls and works well on Telegram, where the NFC functionality is already implemented."
"Customers are also providing us with feedback," she responded when asked about customer evaluations of the product.
KasperskyOS: A Microkernel-Based Operating System
KasperskyOS is a microkernel-based operating system. It is not based on any other system; its microkernel has been written from scratch and does not use Linux kernel code. This OS is designed for creating both software and hardware systems that are protected against all types of threats, including those yet to be discovered. KasperskyOS does not require antivirus software.
Kaspersky Lab previously told TASS that their operating system could be used on devices from Russian and Asian manufacturers but noted they must meet certain conditions. The priority target segment for this OS is the corporate and industrial sectors.
In early 2024, in a blog post, Kaspersky stated that today, KasperskyOS is not an operating system intended for personal computers; it cannot be used as a primary OS on PCs or laptops.
