Adapter brackets are required and must be installed, followed by bolting on the anti-torque linkage brackets for each corner. The time required for installation depends on the vehicle, the installer’s tools, and their mechanical abilities. Proper track clearance may require alterations to the vehicle, such as removing or trimming mud flaps, bumpers, or running boards. Body or suspension lifts can also provide necessary clearance.

For ATVs and Side x Sides utilizing the LiteFoot system, installation involves preassembled tracks that are bolted onto the wheel hub after jacking up the vehicle. Operational Considerations and Performance Characteristics

Mattracks tracks are constructed with a one-piece design, incorporating internal belting and composite reinforcement. They are made from a specially formulated rubber compound designed for operation across diverse terrains. The large surface area (26 square feet) of the tracks reduces ground pressure to as low as 1.5 psi, minimizing compaction and rutting compared to standard tires which can exert up to 40 psi. This reduced ground pressure allows the vehicle to travel on top of soft surfaces rather than sinking into them.

While Mattracks can achieve high speeds on hard surfaces, it is recommended not to exceed 40 mph. Operation on challenging terrain may require more deliberate maneuvering. The tracks alter the vehicle’s gear ratio, resulting in slightly reduced top speed and operation at a higher RPM range. Steering with tracks is less agile than with tires, particularly in tight spaces, requiring the use of reverse and three-point turns. Mattracks recommends against installing the system on ATVs with engine displacement below 400cc.
