PlayStation 5 Pro Release Date Announced: 'The Most Powerful Sony Console Ever'
Sony has announced the PlayStation 5 Pro. It was inevitable, but now we finally know more officially about the new console. The gaming company itself calls it "the most powerful console we've ever built." Ray tracing must be significantly improved, allowing for better reflections of many surfaces in games and much better lighting, thereby adding more realism to them.

PS5 Pro has finally been officially unveiled after months of leaks. There are three notable improvements: the aforementioned ray tracing, better AI-driven upscaling, and a larger GPU (graphics processor). This upgrade results in a 45% faster render time, according to Mark Cerny, who designed the console. One thing is missing: a disc drive. Not all gamers will be equally happy about this, as if you have games on disc and prefer to play them that way, you could still choose between a console with or without a disc drive on PS5, but it seems like that option is now gone. Whether Sony will eventually release a disc drive variant of the PS5 Pro remains unknown, but at the moment, it does not seem likely.
The console looks very similar to the sleek PS5. PS5 Pro Game Boost is possible, allowing you to upgrade more than 8,500 PlayStation 4 games backward compatible for the PS5-Pro. The resolution of selected PS4 games can be improved on the PS5 Pro. AI also plays a role: PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution aims to improve frame rates and anti-aliasing.
