'Scream 7' will perhaps have to do without one of the franchise's big stars

It is certain that Scream 7 is on its way, but it is still not entirely clear whether we will see Gale Weathers again. Courteney Cox, who was in all six previous installments, has not yet signed up for the seventh chapter.

Much speculation surrounds the seventh installment. Neve Campbell is back after she let the sixth installment pass her by due to a low salary offer. Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera stated in March that they would not be returning for more adventures.

That's not all. It is also uncertain whether Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding will be part of the cast again. The original Scream writer, Kevin Williamson, is back and even serves as director.

Apparently, he has not yet contacted Cox. During a recent interview, the actress briefly but strongly stated: "It's not certain because I haven't signed up for the project. So I don't know if I'm involved, but it is clear that there will be a 'Scream 7'."

Wait and See

Campbell, who previously said she was happy to return as Sidney Prescott, stated that it is possible other familiar faces might return for the series. It remains to be seen whether Cox will also be part of this.
