Users are calling out the main downside of the iPhone 16: the Camera Control button breaks

Owners of the latest iPhones found a unpleasant feature that everyone who plans to buy iPhone 16 should know about. This is the Camera Control button - the main novelty in the 16th generation of Apple smartphones. It turns out that this key is very fragile and can't survive after a light fall on its side.

Users on Reddit shared several photos of their iPhone 16 after they fell on a hard surface. On both photos, it is visible that the Camera Control button broke, while the metallic case remained completely intact. It is worth noting that the key is made of tempered sapphire glass. This type of glass is quite hard, making it difficult to scratch, but easy to break.

Cases, unfortunately, won't protect from such damage. In most cases, the place where the Camera Control button should be has a regular cutout, which leaves the "button hole". Only bulky cases with a thick frame, for example, those released by UAG, can protect the button.

Those who have already broken the photo button claim that it still retains functionality - it reads presses and touches even with cracked glass. However, iPhone 16 owners are concerned that the damage may affect the device's functionality over time. Water may get into the cracks and penetrate the internal components.

Most of all, customers are upset by Apple's attitude towards the problem. The company says that to fix the defect, you will need to replace the entire device, not just the button.
