Apple Uses OLED TDDI to Create Thin iPhone 17 Air

Apple is rumored to be preparing to release a thin iPhone 17 Air that will resemble the iPad Pro M4. The new smartphone is expected to be unveiled in the fall of 2025 and will feature a 6.6-inch display and one rear camera. This information comes from the publication Digitimes.

The key role in creating the thin body of the iPhone 17 Air is played by the OLED TDDI technology, which the Taiwanese manufacturer Novatek plans to mass-produce in the second quarter of 2025. The delivery deadlines coincide with the expected release schedule for displays for the iPhone in 2025, which allows us to assume that Apple and Novatek are collaborating on this project, although there is no official confirmation of this.

It is expected that the OLED TDDI technology will also be used in future iPads, Apple Watches, as well as in a foldable iPhone or iPad.

Rumor has it that the iPhone 17 Air, also known as Slim, will be more expensive than the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max.
