AI is actively helping users on online marketplaces

Avito has introduced a new feature that uses artificial intelligence to analyze reviews about masters and create short summaries about them. Developed by the company, a large language model (LLM) highlights key advantages and disadvantages of the performer, allowing potential customers to quickly get a general idea of them and make a more informed choice.

In a test mode, users will see a block "Neural network has gathered the main points," where the algorithm presents a summarized review with blocks "Advantages" and "Disadvantages." It reflects qualities important for most customers: speed, neatness, responsiveness, and work quality.

The information presented by the neural network is confirmed by original reviews, which remain accessible. Users can also evaluate the quality of the algorithm by leaving their own review about it. The training of the neural network was based on over 20,000 examples of reviews, which were labeled by the AI editors of Avito.

At the moment, the new feature is available in a test mode in several categories of "Avito Services." In the future, the company plans to scale it to other verticals of the platform.

"Our research shows that 95% of users read reviews before making a purchase or ordering online services," noted Natalia Yuomoto, Director of Trust and Security at Avito. "The new service will save time by using machine learning to analyze reviews."
