US Successfully Tests "Everlasting" Drone

The US successfully completed the testing of Skydweller Aero's "everlasting" drone. The first tests lasted several weeks, during which the drone made flights lasting 16 and 22.5 hours.

The developers plan to increase the autonomous flight time to several weeks, and in the future, even to several months. The goal is to create a concept of an "everlasting" drone that can fly indefinitely using only solar energy.

Thanks to onboard batteries, the drone can carry up to 363 kg of useful load. This allows it to continue flying even when solar energy is unavailable.

The drone can be used for both military and civilian purposes. The project is funded by the US Navy (5 million dollars) and venture capitalists (40 million dollars).
