Huawei Prepares First Kirin Chip for PCs and HarmonyOS PC
Huawei may delay the launch of its Kirin chip for PCs until the first quarter of 2025, according to Huawei Central, citing an insider from BeijingDigitalMaster.
This month, a series of new products are expected, including the Nova 13, the new MatePad tablet, the Sound X4 speaker, the Hi MateBook smart laptop, and a public beta version of HarmonyOS Next. In November, a stable version of HarmonyOS Next is expected, along with the flagship Mate 70 series and the foldable phone Mate X6.
Previously, information surfaced that Huawei might release HarmonyOS PC within the next six months. It's possible that the company will present the Kirin PC chip at the same time.
Previous rumors suggested that the Kirin PC would follow the architecture of Apple M chips, which contain DRAM and SoC in one package, doubling memory bandwidth and improving efficiency. In addition to the new CPU architecture, the chip set is also expected to provide new AI features for laptops. This chip may be slightly less energy-efficient than processors for phones.
In the past, BeijingDigitalMaster reported detailed information about the new features of HarmonyOS.
