With the release of its high-end electric sedan EV6 later this year, South Korean manufacturer Kia intends to enter the Indian electric vehicle segment.
On May 26, the company, which currently sells Seltos and Sonet in the United Kingdom, will begin bookings for the electric model. Only 100 units of the EV6 would be on sale in the country.
"We are embarking on a new level Kia experience in India," says Kia India''s MD and CEO. The EV6 is a revolutionary vehicle designed from the ground up to make electric mobility easier, convenient, and accessible by combinating a high-throughput driving range, high-throughput charging capabilities, and a spacious high-tech interior.
According to reports, the EV6 is the most high-tech Kia ever made.
"With EV6, we don''t just want to reach out to the customer who is on the market to purchase an electric car, but we want to reach out to every potential customer who wants to own a premium automobile," Park said.
The EV6 will be a limited number of units to be on sale in 2022, according to a source.
