Gurman: The M2 iPad Pro will be available in the coming days, with additional Macs coming later this ...

Apple already introduced its new iPhone and Apple Watch lineup last month. However, the company has been rumored to be working on some other new products. A new study from Bloombergs Mark Gurman claims that the M2 iPad Pro will be announced in the coming days. However, new Macs will not be available until later this year.

New iPads coming very soon

Gurman today confirmed that there will be several new iPad models coming soon. A new generation iPad Pro equipped with the M2 chip, the same as the M2 MacBook Air, which was introduced back in June. The new iPad Pro models will keep the current form-factor with 11-inch and 12.9-inch displays.

Consumers are unlikely to notice a significant performance jump compared to the current iPad Pro model. There are also significant hardware improvements at this point.

The A14 Bionic chip will be used in the new entry-level iPad, the same as the iPhone 12 and iPad Air 4. This means that Apple will keep the iPad Pro and iPad Air exclusive for longer periods.

Gurman said he expects iPadOS 16.1 to be released to the public the week of October 24. As this update increases support for the new iPad models, it wont be a surprise if the company announces the new iPads as soon as next week. The journalist also believes that the products will be announced with a press release rather than a special event.

What about new Macs?

Recent revelations have also suggested the release of new Macs in late 2022. While Gurman expects Apple to introduce new Macs soon, he cautions that the new machines will be introduced at a later date rather than alongside the new iPads.

Apple is also planning a new Apple TV with the A14 processor and 4GB of RAM, which is a far greater improvement than the previous one with the A12 processor. However, details about when this new Apple TV will be announced are ambiguous.
