PowerToys has been relegated to a host file editor and will provide a backup of settings ...

PowerToys version 0.63.0 was shipped at the beginning of this month, but it was considerably smaller than the previous version, while keeping the focus on stability and efficiency despite a couple of tweaks.

Two new features will be released in future versions of PowerToys. The first up is the Settings backup feature, which will allow users to backup and restore settings with just a single click at any time.

Users may also select where to backup data through the "General" setting page.

The next phase of the development is a feature that will allow the users to edit the hosts file. Currently, users depend on the Notepad to execute the file, but the new feature unpacks a user interface that increases both efficiency and effectiveness.

The feature also includes additional features such as repositioning, filtering, disabling, and pinging existing addresses. What''s more, users may also add comments to the entries made. It has not been confirmed when and if these features will be available at Powertoys.
