Microsoft has unveiled a range of tools for artists at its Ignite 2022 event today. The biggest issue is the development of the new Designer app. While we already had a very good idea of what the new app was about from previous leaks, which included several different images, the official announcement confirms some of those expectations and rumors.
Designer is a graphic design software developed by Microsoft 365 that will assist users create social media posts, invitations, and digital postcards in a fly. This is because it will run by OpenAI''s DALL.E 2, among others. Basically, the company claims that Designer is Microsoft on steroids, where the AI does most of the work. With its help, users can anticipate over eight billion AI-generated slide designs.
Designer integration has been confirmed on Edge as well. Starting today, the free web preview is available at this link. The app is expected to improve over time.
While we are discussing AI-generated images, Microsoft is also introducing a new "Image Creator" from Microsoft Bing, which is identical to Designer, except his will be in Bing and help create completely new images. The feature will be a gradual rollout, and users may access it via the Images tab in Bing (https://www.bing.com/create) or via the Image Creator icon on Edge.
Microsoft has also launched a new "Microsoft Create" website. The Redmond company calls it the "ultimate creator launchpad" for creating videos, graphic designs, documents, presentations, and other items. Basically, the Create website will provide a curated list of items, videos, templates, and more, from similar authors that will assist new users.
