The Nvidias RTX 4090 GPU has just arrived, and Team Green has revealed which games will initially support the new feature of its frame rate improvement technology, DLSS 3.
Super People (a battle royale in early access on Steam), Loopmancer, and Justice: Fuyun Court are among the games that will utilize DLSS 3 right off the bat.
There''s nothing really interesting there, but there are a few more names on the way to the DLSS 3 treatment, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, for which the technology departs on October 17.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is available for download on the following day, October 18, and then F1 2022, although the date hasn''t been confirmed, according to Nvidia. The update is expected to arrive shortly (presumably later this month).
While on the subject of the frame rate increase, there are also a number of games that are receiving DLSS 2 support (remember, the DLSS 3 is only for RTX 4000 graphics cards). Here''s the entire list of those, including Gotham Knights (when it comes on October 21)
Analysis: Thin on the ground so far...
There aren''t many games with DLSS 3 support out there, of course. This month, though, there may only be six titles in total, assuming F1 22 support will be available later in October.
There is a lot more in the pipeline, and Nvidia has confirmed that there are 35 games and apps that are getting DLSS 3 support down the line, with more to come on top of that no doubt. Cyberpunk 2077 is a high-profile game that is expected to be supported by the DLSS 3 team, but no doubt, this blog post will be released soon, so we may have to wait a while for that yet (though it has already been seen in preview testing).
While DLSS 3 is not limited to RTX 4000 series GPUs, any game that is supported will have backwards compatibility with DLSS 2, therefore RTX 3000 or 2000 GPUs will still benefit. Nvidia Reflex support, too, is also used for lower system lag and better responsive gaming, which is really useful for competitive shooters.
