Google is putting a hand in the way that Apple is losing ground in the earbud market ...

Apple is coming away from the competition in the "tech earwear" category because of its estimated 120 million pairs of Airpods being sold in 2021.

3 out of four American teens own a pair of AirPods. Today, the Apple AirPods Pro 2, a second-generation premium AirPod, will feature Apple''s new H2 processor, which demonstrates improved audio quality and improved battery life. The Airpods Pro 2 also have a new charging case.

Almost everyone would think that Apple isn''t planning to relinquish its dominance in the earbuds market anytime soon.

Google and Microsoft have yet to give up without a fight. On September 21, Google introduced a new dedicated app for Pixel Buds Pro earbuds. It will also include a customizable five-band equalizer that people have been waiting for for awhile. However, this isn''t exactly the case as yet. Other features like Spatial Audio and improved ANC controls are likely on the very horizon for Pixel Bud Pro users.

Microsoft is still in the game with its Surface Earbuds. They offer excellent battery life along with superb audio quality. As in the AirPods Pro, these headphones cost upward of $200, but you get what you pay for.

It will take more than a new Pixel Buds app for Google to catch up on Apple''s Airpods, but Pixel Buds Pro fans have plenty to look forward to as the new versions arrive soon. At the Surface Event in October, anyone knows?
