Microsoft will be holding its next major hardware reveal event to kick-off the Ignite developer conference, and you can bet there are a few new devices on the way.
Microsoft has only stated that it will be talking devices during the event, which is expected to be online-only the same as every Surface launch since the start of the epidemic. Although reports of a Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 have only recently shown signs, it is a dead cert that both will take center stage.
The Surface Laptop Go 2, which was only improved a few months ago, could have a whole Surface upgrade, but the new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop versions would be a treat for Microsoft enthusiasts, as well as an upgraded version of the Surface Studio 2 all-in-one.
The Surface Pro 9 was designed for the 12th generation Intel processors, along with a separate ARM-powered model that will utilize a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chipset. Forest and Sapphire are apparently added to the colour palette, with up to 1TB of on-board storage and 16GB of RAM the potential customization options. Similarly, WinFuture said the AMD Ryzen-powered Surface Laptop 4 isn''t going to get an update, with Intel being the chip of choice for 2022 and beyond.
The save the date image, which appears hand-written and with a stylized version of the Windows 11 background, has nothing to do with it. The sequel follows the Windows 11 H2 upgrade, which has made it the most significant upgrade to the operating system since it was released a year ago.
The event will be streamed on the Microsoft website, with everything expected to start at 3PM GMT (10am local time).
