Apple TV+ has scored one of the best TV packages of the year, landed Vince Gilligans new project via Deadline. Naturally, the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creators new project was hotly contested, with Apple finally secure the series with a two-season upfront order.
Details about the untitled project are being kept under wraps. So far, it has been described as a grounded genre drama. Rhea Seehorn will play Better Call Saul.
The new comedy isn''t related to Breaking Bad and is expected to take a different route from the world of drugs and crime. Gilligan will serve as showrunner.
Zack van Vamburg and Jamie Erlicht have had a long-term relationship with Gilligan, having spearheaded the development of Breaking Bad back in the day under their tenure at Sony Television.
Gilligan will tie her knot with Seehorn, who made a comeback appearance in Better Call Saul, and was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in Better Call Sauls'' final season.
The new Gilligan project is still in development, and it is likely to not be available on Apple TV+ for at least a year. When it does, it will join Apple''s growing catalog of premium original TV shows and movies.
