The cyberpunk Netflix series has increased the daily player count of the game to more than 1 million ...

CD Projekt Red released a message on Twitter on Wednesday to say that this week, Cyberpunk 2077 has contacted one million players. The team was able to honor everyone who had played.

Every day of this week, 1 million players have been visited, both new and returning. We wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for being with us and enjoying the game. Chooms! pic.twitter.com/zqggblztF8

This is the highest player count for the game since it was launched almost two years ago, when the game had over 1 million players on Steam alone. The current number is across all platforms.

The player rise in Cyberpunk 2077 has been attributed to the animated Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which has just launched back on September 13as as well as the Edgerunners update. The latter has been released earlier this month and includes content inspired by the show.

According to SteamDB, cyberpunk 2077 had over 85,000 peak concurrent players yesterday, about twice the 37,000 that they had last week.

At this point, anyone may guess whether this is just a blink in the pan or a sign of things to come for the open-world. But the game has been significantly improved since its shaky launch. And the new Netflix series, along with the recent announcement of a forthcoming major expansion in "Phantom Liberty," make this a great time to become a fan.
