The iPhone 14 Pro's removal merely revealed memory and modem upgrades ...

The iPhone 14 Pro is now in early adopters hands, and some are almost certainly putting it apart on day one to discover the specs Apple has chosen not to reveal.

WekiHome, a Chinese YouTube channel, has saved you the trouble of delaying your warranty and has made it for you with an 11-minute video (opens in a new tab) stripping the iPhone 14, iPhone 14, Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max handsets.

A couple of upgrades for the Pro models have been revealed in a blink-and-youll-miss-it moment around 6:49, which should confirm some of the improvements made by the previous generation. Both the RAM and the modem have been upgraded for the 2022 Pro models.

Last years iPhone 13 Pro handsets featured 6GB of LPDDR4X memory. While iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max both have the same capacity, this update is now faster and available. This might explain why Apple boasted that the A16 Bionic''s 5-core GPU is capable of delivering 50% more memory bandwidth in the most recent mobile games.

The modem, meanwhile, is Qualcomm''s Snapdragon X65, which offers faster speeds via the new 10 Gigabit 5G modem and antenna system, along with greater mmWave spectrum support.

Both the modem and RAM upgrades should result in increased power efficiency, which is why our early battery test indicates a significant decrease in the iPhone 14 Pro''s battery life. Despite the fact that the iPhone 13 Pro was tested 12 hours and 18 minutes per second in our 150-bit cellular web browsing test, the iPhone 14 Pro was down to just 10 hours and 13 minutes.

While ten hours is a decent time, that''s obviously depressing. We were hoping that iOS 16 will be tested for maximum battery life. But we then tested the iPhone 14 Pro Max and found it took the second spot on our list of phones with the best battery life with a massive 13 hours and 39 minutes. That''s an increase of an hour and 23 minutes on the already stellar stamina of the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Apple''s priciest iPhone received a solid thumbs up from us with that battery boost, as well as the addition of the Dynamic Island, a constant-on display, and improved camera. In his iPhone 14 Pro Max review, Mark Spoonauer said, it''s a beast of a pro-level smartphone that''s powerful and sophistic.

He concluded that it is the best phone you can buy.
