Instagram has rolled out parental supervision tools and the Family Center in India. In March 2022, Meta had announced the parental supervision tools and the Family Center tool. These tools will allow parents and guardians to see screen time spent on Instagram and impose time limits. The new parental controls are part of Meta''s promise to protect children who use its social media apps.
Meta is developing the parental supervision tools and the Family Center in India. In March 2022, Meta published the parental supervision tools and the Family Center.
In a blog post, the American technology giant said it worked closely with experts, parents, guardians, and teens to develop the Family Center, which is described as a "new location for parents to monitor their teens'' accounts within Meta technologies, establish and use supervision tools, and access resources on internet use."
During the launch, the supervision tools were only available in the United States. If their parent or guardian requests it, adolescents will need to approve parental supervision.
Instagram''s surveillance is optional, and both the parent and the teenager must agree to the terms to use the tool. The feature may be removed at any time by either person. However, the other person will be alerted if any of the parties removes supervision.
Parents may set a time limit for Instagram usage, select scheduled breaks for Instagram usage, see the time spent on Instagram, notice the teenagers'' accounts, as well as see the ones that are following the teenagers. Parents may also get a peek of the details they will be able to supervise.
