Some iPhone 14 Pro pre-orders delayed
Apple is conserving its shipping estimates for new iPhones most years. We almost never hear of situations where the company promised a shopper launch day delivery, but then delays that delivery after the fact. What is more common about Apple''s quotes a later delivery, then beats those estimates.
This year, however, the iPhone 14 release has been rocky. On pre-order day last week, the Apple Store Online and Apple Store app both faced significant delays as customers ordered the new devices. This resulted in a variety of problems, including that some users ended up with multiple iPhone 14 pre-orders due to system issues, while others ended up with nothing.
Apple has reduced their projected delivery dates by a week to September 23, but weve also heard from subscribers who have been subjected to the push to September 30. Several buyers were informed earlier this week about the delays, while others were not informed until today.
These delays appear to be affecting the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 isn''t as supply-constrained as the Pro models. Also remember that the iPhone 14 Plus will not launch until October 7.
Given the pre-order system shortcomings, this news to iPhone 14 buyers is not surprising. Ideally, Apple will still be able to beat its shipping estimates, even if its only by a few days. The iPhone 14 Pro delays appear to be quite widespread this year (yet). However, this year is still more common than in previous years.
The majority of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max versions are quoting delivery estimates from mid-to-late October via the Apple Store Online.
