Microsoft is beginning to testing video ad blocking in the Edge browser ...

This week, the Microsoft Edge Canary app for Android devices has been refreshed (via GH) with a new feature called Edge Block Video Ads, which is designed to block video ads within the mobile version of Microsoft''s web browser.

Due to the addition of the free AdBlock Plus tool, the Android Edge app already has some ad blocking. Edge Block Video Ads is assumed to work in tandem with AdBlock Plus ad blocking and will eliminate video ads that fall under the radar.

When you type edge://flags in the address bar, and then doing a search for videos, you may enable Edge Block video ads within the Microsoft Edge Canary app.

If testing goes well in the Canary app, the feature will likely be introduced to the regular Microsoft Edge Android app in the near future. It''s unclear if a built-in video ad blocking is planned for Microsoft Edge''s iOS or Windows versions, though several browser extensions, including AdBlock Plus, are already available on Windows.
